Review of Term 2 in Sunflowers…

We had a fantastic term in Sunflowers, celebrating many festivals including Bonfire Night, Diwali & Christmas!

We focused on our school value of ‘Freedom’,

exploring what this means to us as we think about remembering 100 years since World War One as a whole school.

Our learning in class predominantly focused on our core story ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’.

The week following Remembrance Day was our school value ‘Freedom’ week!

Each child created their own individual poppy to add onto our Sunflower class poppy wreath, which was then laid at the bottom of our new school freedom tree in a whole-school ceremony on the Friday.

On the Friday we were also lucky enough to go on our first school trip, walking into Old Marston Village to look at the poppies displayed on the War Memorial in the church yard, as well as inside St Nicholas Church.
