Travelling to School
Welcome to our travel to school information page.
The St Nicholas’ community have formed the St Nicks Travel Action Group to promote safe and sustainable travel to St Nicholas’ Primary School.
We all share the same concern for our children’s safety during the crowded drop-off and pick-up times at St Nicks. All of us are relying on each other to act safely and with consideration to each other and the local residents; whether in a car, on a bike or on foot.
The Travel Action Group has been set up by parents and teachers with the goal of improving travel to and from school with regard to our children’s safety, respect for our local community and the environment.
Please keep an eye out for our next meeting. We hope you will come along. In the meantime, please email any comments or concerns.

Walk to School Week
Get your happy feet on, it’s time to celebrate.
Living Streets have created the greatest national Walk to School celebration, where pupils and grown-ups around the UK unite for one week of walking to school.
The five-day walking challenge aimed at primary schools is a fun and engaging week-long activity, raising awareness and celebrating walking for all. Pupils will be well on their way to reaching their recommended 60 minutes minimum of physical activity per day before even reaching the school gates! Not only will it set them up for a positive day in the classroom, it will also help create healthy habits for life.
Let’s walk together and raise awareness of the wonders of walking.
