Latest Parent Mail 4.3.2021

Dear Parents,

Our latest risk assessment has now been approved by governors and we are ready to welcome back all the children next Monday 8th March. The sense of relief we all had when the Prime Minister first announced the return of all children has now been replaced with excitement. We simply cannot wait – and I expect you are feeling the same!

As parents, things will feel pretty much the same as September in terms of the systems in place.

In school, the children will be in their Year group bubbles and will not mix with staff or children from other bubbles. Nursery, Reception and the CIRB will also be in separate bubbles. There are only a handful of staff who can move between bubbles and this will only be when it is absolutely necessary.

We ask children to bring in only a named water bottle and their lunch if they are having a packed lunch from home. They can also bring their book bag. They will only use writing equipment that the school will provide. Play equipment will be shared with their bubble only and sanitized regularly.

Uniform and PE kit:

Children will need to wear their usual school uniform. On PE days they will need to come to school in their PE kit and wear it all day. They can bring in a pair of running shoes/trainers for the daily mile and outdoor PE and these will be kept in school. Class teachers will confirm with you when PE days are. We have lots of unworn/hardly worn uniforms available at the front of school so please come and take what you need.

Staggered times:

I have re-attached the staggered drop off and collection times. We have kept this to 5 minute staggers to help parents as much as possible but we really need your help for this to work. We understand that plans don’t always run smoothly but we ask that you do all you can to keep to this schedule.

If your child requires a medical appointment, please let us know in advance and send in a copy of the appointment confirmation. With any absence, please let the class teacher and the office know.

walk if possible and do not drive your car up to the school gates – this area is for taxis for children from the CIRB only

do not arrive or send children any earlier than their appointed time. Please be punctual

stand back if you are waiting for a second/third time slot

move away from the school as soon as the children have gone through the gate, please don’t stand in groups and chat outside the school gates

observe social distancing on the approach and outside the school

please do not bring bikes or scooters unless absolutely necessary.

Final notes:

Children will be brought to the gate at the end of the day for their appointed collection times.

All these measures are to keep everyone as socially distanced as possible to keep the children, staff and you safe and we appreciate all your endeavours to help us with this.

Please be in touch if you have questions at all and…… it is lovely to be able to say this …….. see you on Monday.

Best wishes,

Julie Holland
