Welcome to the Communication and Interaction Resource Base

St Nicholas’ Primary & Nursery School has a Communication & Interaction Resource Base (CIRB) for up to 15 pupils, aged 5-11 years, with a primary need of Communication & Interaction/ Autism. The CIRB is part of a continuum of support within the Local Offer for children and young people in Oxfordshire. Further information about the Local Offer can be found here.

The key principle of CIRB provision is to facilitate access to the mainstream curriculum, working towards full and independent inclusion in all aspects of school life. CIRB provision is designed for pupils who are capable of accessing a broadly age-expected curriculum but require additional support to access mainstream classes due to barriers arising out of Autism Spectrum/ Communication & Interaction differences.
